Some patients experience a burning sensation in their nipples during the first few weeks. Your breasts will be sensitive during this time, so physical contact is discouraged. Swelling might take several months to fully subside. Scars will remain firm and pink for 2 to 3 months, and although they will never completely disappear, they should fade.
